Heather was a long-time friend, and she was the very first of the Grayhawk ambassadors. We loved her spirit and infectious enthusiasm, and we admired her integrity and courage. But, she also was tough: a real fighter when she had to be. We named our very first hole on Grayhawk's Talon Course "Farrview" in her honor. A life-sized bronze statue of Heather stands behind the tee as a memorial. Plus, the forward tees are named the “Heather” tees in her honor.
The late Heather Farr was an outstanding junior golfer, an All-American player at Arizona State University and a rising star on the LPGA Tour. Yet, it was during her four-and-one-half year fight with breast cancer that her unique courage and spirit shone most brightly. Heather ultimately lost her struggle with breast cancer, but her strength and character lives on and continues to encourage golfers to strive for excellence.
