Since the first shovel broke ground, some of the golf world’s notable names began to call Grayhawk Golf Club their home. Obviously great golf was the main draw, but Grayhawk’s unassuming come-as-you-are vibe also fostered a relaxed atmosphere perfect for the “hang.” From the beginning a few of Grayhawk’s regulars such as Peter Kostis, Gary McCord and Phil Mickelson became more than just guys enjoying a cup of corn chowder in Phil’s Grill, they became Grayhawk’s Ambassadors. In fact, Kostis and McCord liked the place so much, they opened their world-renowned learning center on site, and Mickelson has been donning the Grayhawk logo on his bag for more than a decade.
